@grouser: We, Orthodox, celebrate the name of the Saint or Santa we took when we were baptised...Today Greeks celebrate St. Nicholaos (Nicholas). Nicholaos (Nikos) is my father's name.

Often the parents are there to open the doors with their children, in this direction, your photograph is symbolic for me. I like also the play of the lights, a lit hand, the surface of the duller door Bravo ;)

I LOVE this shot! Can you tell me more about the door? Is it in your neighborhood..were you exploring..?
I would love to know what's behind it. Exploring old buildings is one of my favorite things to do.
I'm not a photographer but i think your photos are wonderful. (My husband is on this site as grant.) Some of my favorites are the scenery shots...white buildings, blue water, old churches, etc. The tiny church in the hillside with the dark wooden chairs is amazing. I wish I could see it in person. Someday I hope to visit Greece & the Mediterranean. You are a beautiful young girl & lucky to live in such a wonderful place. Keep doing what you're doing..your photos are a pleasure to look at!
